Mission and Vision
doTERRA’s mission has always been to share the greatest quality essential oils with the rest of the world. A group of health-care and business professionals set out to make this mission a reality after witnessing firsthand the amazing benefits that can be achieved from using these precious resources. They started a company called doTERRA, which is a Latin word that means “Gift of the Earth.”
The first challenge was to develop a quality standard in an industry that had never had one before. It wasn’t enough for the doTERRA founders to simply provide essential oils to homes all over the world; they were also committed to providing only the highest quality and purest essential oils so that families could be confident that they were using the best to promote health and wellness for their loved ones. This approach resulted in the development of a new therapeutic quality standard: CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade®.
A team of dedicated people was required to realize such a great vision as bringing essential oils to the world. This group would have to be made up of people who are committed to hard effort, passion, and vision. Since its start, the team has grown, but the objective has remained the same: to supply essential oils that appeal to everyone from beginners to experts, and that can be used safely on family members.
Sharing essential oils is a one-of-a-kind experience, and doTERRA’s founders realized that a one-of-a-kind sales approach was required. doTERRA has a direct selling methodology that allows distributors to work with consumers rather than mass marketing in order to best promote individualized essential oil experiences. This more personalized approach allows people to personally experience the wonderful power of essential oils while also building trusting relationships. Individuals and families were also able to realize their ambitions of financial independence thanks to this concept. doTERRA products are now used and sold by over 2 million Wellness Advocates all over the world.
